Line
One of the ways to derive the material world is to define a relationship between two points. Then we have the line. The line of greatest tension, would be the straight line – of which there is only one (which doesn’t really exist!). This line forms the (imaginary) basis around which all other lines between these two points dance, for between any two points there are an infinite amount of curved lines, but, in 2d alone, there is only one straight line between any two points…
All the lines are non-looping, and continuous, which is how we imagine them anyways. When I speak of a line, we general concept of a line is as straight, i.e., non-looping, and continuous. Seldom, unless specifically directed, would we think of a dis-continuous line, for instance. Or a broken shape.
Let’s not get too esoteric and talk about lines that are defined by the space between these two points. Starting from just off the straight line, through the sphere, to a shape bulging hugely (almost infinitely, but not quite) in the middle. Let’s not deal with all the possible shapes that could be formed by a line, non-looping, but otherwise any, between these two points. In fact, that is the way the creation manifests, by defining a specific relationship between each and every point — that is “spiritually” continuous. There is also the fact that there are categories of relationships, though each individual interaction is unique to its participants.
All shapes on a plane are drawn, expressed by a point moving across the plane, creating shapes. This requires a history, (out of time, out of sync) a memory of where the point was, a history, a past, in time
Once a connection has been formed between two points, any two points, the dance begins. The perfectly straight line is theoretical, and we have the ability to perceive these points — the end points, the beginning and the end of the line — and create relationships in our consciousness. Even though we naturally see these relationships as “straight” 2d lines, they are never straight lines! Though, in a sense, it is these straight lines that form the immaculate “design” of the universe. They are G-d’s presence, representing the middle line/space of balance. Whereas, in the manifest universe, and the currently perceived one too, there are no straight lines!
