Finite mind
Infinity is a concept of the finite mind
Anything finite must come from “something” infinite, for infinity means “not” finite. In-finite we find infinity.
Similarly 0 cannot exist in a finite world. It expresses non-existence. For instance, 1 - 1 = 0 implies removal. One could say that the ‘1’ was “chosen”, or “borrowed”, from the pool of Infinite numbers identified and subsequently returned, and we are left with no-thing – except for the Infinite nothing that is the source of All.
In fact, as a light overview, one could say that mathematics is a language. For 1 - 1 = 0, we could say that “I had something. Then I lost it. So I ended up with nothing.” Or, if one was more academic, one could use this to claim an idea of balance, or norm.
Infinity
What is infinity? How would you describe it? I am thinking about it in particular as a defining characteristic of the Divine.
If I accept that we live in an infinite universe, I must acknowledge that there is a cause that is greater than I can imagine. Anything less will result in some form of idolatry.
If something is finite, and has no infinite component to it, would mean that it is perhaps understandable by our (finite) comprehension, and that one is capable of understanding it entirely.
However, to accept the idea of living in an infinite is not easy, and requires constant reminding for we can only accept infinity for brief moments, if at all.
By acknowledging the infinite, we accept that there is always another way. This is the path of the warrior, the explorer. Accepting the infinite in your life, making it manifest in the world around you — that is the way of spirit.
Imagining Infinity
Choose a point in your consciousness. See it. Feel it. Hold it. Make it your centre. Now, holding that point, let it begin moving away from you - in any direction. As any direction you choose is possible.
Now move with the point, expanding with it. Stay with this feeling for a while, then continue moving further and further with it.
Looking at this point, you will notice that it has defined a line from its origin to where it is presently. See how your consciousness can traverse that line, and all the points in between. Explore this a moment. Play with it. Watch it undulate. Watch it pulsate, for it has to have energy to exist.
Let this point continue to move, further and further. Now it is moving faster and faster, whizzing out further than ever before. Stretch, stretch with it. Keep the line. Keep the information and energy flowing. Is there something infinite in you that can keep going, or do you have to stop?
Once you reach the periphery of your own consciousness, and can continue no longer, else you will lose yourself, know that beyond that point lies infinity. No matter how far you go, in any direction, it is still possible to go further and beyond that point is where you can experience the Infinite in all its Glory.
No matter how large is, even choosing the highest number you can imagine for this , these is always another number, say , that is larger than , but less than . This is a simple definition of infinity: as the “number” that is always larger than the largest number we can think of.
What is infinity - Line Exercise
In order for us to envisage infinity, let us imagine an infinite line. A line that has no beginning and no end. That, in itself, might be a stretch of the imagination, but could we try and experience this infinite line?
Let us try. But first we need a starting point. As the line is infinite, we can choose any point[^6] from it. We can call it the “point of origin”.
Instead of a goal, instead of imagining something else, or some other place, remember this point of origin, 0, zero.
[!note] compass
This is the principle of the compass, used to draw circles, which requires one foot to be stable, while the other many wander around. The compass we use to determine direction has true north as its anchor. In fact, all measuring devices require the same two elements in order to produce any valid results.
Remain at that beginning point a moment. Settle there, become familiar with it. Make sure you know where it is. Make sure it is secure and will remain fixed. When you have succeeded in doing that, now being to move from that point, slowly, along this line. Continue moving, keeping on the track, while remaining tethered to the place of origin, the beginning.
After a time of travelling along this line, you may notice that your movement has become faster as you cover more distance. At a certain moment, you will feel this line that stretches between you and your starting point begin to tighten, like an rubber band that is being stretched tight.
You are close to your end point. A word of caution, do not cross over that boundary, for once the chord is broken, you may not be able to return.
[!note] Math
That is the beauty of mathematics, and its pull for those who are able to hear it. It is like a chord that enables us to explore amazing realms of the imagination, even think thoughts that few are able to comprehend. It is the thread that leads us back to the point we started from.
But beyond that point (or line) that demarcates your limit, is where infinity — in our experience — begins. This is what it means for a line to be infinite. It is a line that we cannot even imagine, though we can describe it as being endless — a state contradicting everything in our experience; or as having no beginning and no end, but we cannot envisage that.[^9]
Spend as much time at your limit as you wish, but do not be careless. When you are done, please return…
Which direction to ?
Which way to ?
Any narrative that attempts to describe the “real” world(s) we live can only be approached from one of two perspectives. Either outside : from the perspective of the infinite to the finite; or inside : from the separate point of individual consciousness expanding into the unknown realms of the possibly infinite. This is the gap that the finite can never bridge, because the finite cannot contain the infinite whereas the infinite can contain an unimaginable amount of finities.
Only in the infinite realm, would we able to express this dynamic at . So the full description is
Notice that the quest goes from to . This is because (one) is the first, the beginning. There has to exist at least for anything to exist. And from that an can grow.
The compliment (or opposite) journey from (zero) and is often referred to as the study of infinitesimals, which is the mathematics of the infinity small. They have similarities, the most challenging of which is that we can get extremely close to zero, but never really attain it. Just as it is a mysterious jump of cognition from a finite number to the infinite, so it is a jump in continuity from the finite number to zero. We can very easily say but this is a discreet process. However to proceed from 1, and step by step draw closer to 0, it will still require a “jump” to reach 0. In order to more fully understand this, we need to understand the concept of continuity (in mathematics)
Numbers
Is it that each number, being a part of the infinite set of numbers, must be associated with the that it is a part of. In other words, must there be “” in every (finite) number as well? If every number is part of the infinite set of numbers, is not a “part” of every one of those numbers? We might have to label this part a composite, as we do not have the words to express the infinite that must then exist in every finite part that is a piece of that infinite whole. The meditation on that is that after you have cut the pie into pieces, is it not still a whole pie? Even if each piece is devoured, they would still, potentially, make up the whole pie — of course, they would have to reconstituted. The quest here is how to express that whole that exists in each piece.
Infinity in Infinity
On the one hand, a characteristic of infinity is that even if you remove an infinite amount of infinity from infinity, it is still infinite. If there is a change of state within this infinity, then so has it’s infinite collection of finite events. It, all of it, will have changed. Though it would require an infinite observer, a witness, to notice it.
Finite in Infinite
As with everything, we intuit the opposite then make our choice. When we make a mistake, by its very definition, is saying that there is a “correct”. That there is a place where there is no mistake. For that is the duality we live in. Just as the flight plan is constantly adjusted, it helps to know that you will be wrong, that there is an error in your assessment always. That your purpose is to constantly adjust - the statement of constant faith – towards the goal of perfection. Though when you do achieve it, you get a definite high, called a “moment of grace” – but that is only for a moment. Thus accept that I will err and re-adjust.
If you can imagine (see) finite, you can intuit infinite. Take the number line, start at any number, continue till you reach the largest number you can. There will always be another number beyond that. In other words, any number you choose will always be less than infinity. We facilely jump between the finite and the infinite. This is a basic error for how does the infinite become finite? The very question of creation. Or vice versa?
Infinite cannot exist in a finite object. However the finite world is a piece of the Infinite (or exists in it). So the (smallest) infinity, , is postulated as an infinite amount of finite objects. It does not mean that when we reach infinity all these objects are annihilated. In fact, they multiply. They increase immeasurably. Now, what if there is an infinite amount of these infinities? What if there are infinite amount of infinities infinite times, etc… That is the Infinity that we refer to as Nothingness. For it is not infinite, it is no-thing - uncountable, as it contains all the objects, and non-objects that were, are and will be there.
Infinite but bounded
Circle
We now introduce the concept of infinite but bounded. The simplest example of this concept is a circle (2d). For one can continue along or around the circle forever, and never reach the end. Yet the space that you are creating by your path is bounded. Is that space finite or not? If you filling it with one-dimensional (1d) points would it eventually fill up? If one extended it to 3d, how many possibilities would emerge? What if it one extended it into other dimensions?
Tetrahedron 3d
Merkava
#merkaba

![Tetrahedron 3d.jpeg|Tetrahedron|100]
This is where we begin to envisage the concept of the Merkava, as the double tetrahedron, or three-dimensional (3d) Star of David, that spins in the circle. It starts off with its apexes on the circumference of the circle. But it can shrink along either or both its axes, as well as swing around, filling and “defining” the space – but also setting up resonances in it, that may affect many things regarding its dynamics. It will affect the frequencies that it will be sending out, and those that it will be able to receive.

It is similar to a gyroscope in its effect. There is an inner balance that retains our axis mundi upon which all other axes rely. If that gets damaged in any way, then we “lose our way”. Sometimes it is just knocked off its axis, and needs a short while to re-balance. Other times it is actually damaged and needs repair. The cause of this damage is generally “stinking thinking”.
As the circle approaches infinity, you would think that you are on an infinitely long line, and would not be able to differentiate.
[!warning] Math
Mathematics can show that at infinity a circle becomes a straight line (although it can only show this in the imaginary realm – as if mathematics has a “real” realm – it is easy to envisage it in the 2d realm too). If I was a giant from another planet, or had a strong telescope, I would be able to discern that it was actually a bounded circle upon which you are walking through time.
Perhaps this is where the basic confusion upon which the flat earther’s inclination is based!
Infinite Being
#infinity
The Infinite Being fills all worlds and provides the Life Force for all of them.
If I accept the concept of a Divine Being, then that being would fill all worlds that exist, no doubt. That is not the issue. However, in order for G-d to fill all worlds, He does not need to be Infinite, if the worlds and amount of worlds are finite. This is a countable infinity, for each world must, by definition, be finite—or at least bounded. But if G-d is everything we can perceive, and everything we cannot perceive or know, then we are closer to Him, the Infinity of Infinities.
Thus let us begin with the Infinite.
What is infinity?
#infinity
The Infinite exists everywhere. For some it comes after 3, as in 1, 2, 3 … many. For us that might seems primitive, and after a huge number like or , etc. But if we ridicule those who thought that infinity was lurking around the corner from 3, try this one.
Imagine a circle, or a 2-dimensional sphere. Now imagine a 3-dimensional sphere like a soccer ball. No problem. Now try to imagine a 4-dimensional sphere, commonly known as a hypersphere — you can’t. Whether we encounter or imagine infinity after 3, or after 10 trillion, or after , it is the same infinity. Infinity comes after whatever threshold we have set. How close is close enough? When referring to infinity, who really knows? Once we have stepped over the threshold, passing through the veil that separates the two, we have entered into the realm of faith, for we do not know what awaits us—since we are only able to process a finite amount of events from the infinite potential of events inherent in the Infinity of Infinities from which all comes. In the infinite realm, our coherency breaks down.
Reiterating that infinity is the same wherever it is encountered, one could almost say it “feels” the same—in that the experience of the Infinite is the “same”, as the experience of eating an orange is described as the “same”. Which is patently untrue. The orange might taste similar to all other oranges, but no two oranges taste exactly the same. Even the emotional environment in which you eat it could affect the taste. This “feeling” has the same sense as our soul “feeling” satisfied by these splendours. That is, wherever we see or meet infinity, the experience would be the same, yet unique, and different to any other’s experience thereof.
Every finite thing is contained in infinity.
From most finite elements, we can derive an infinite set in which they exist. So does the finite object then have some sort of infinity “in” it? Whether it does or not, it is, however, definitely a part of the infinite.
Encountering Infinity
The Source might be infinite but the life that I experience is not. Nothing is infinite in this existence.
If a point had to try to include infinity, it would surely be like energy trying to flow into a vessel that is too small. A number of things can happen. The the circuit burns out and you die. The circuit reroutes the energy into another part of the system and you go crazy. The energy makes it through but burns gates on the way. Now energy can flow in and out but will be travel along other routes as well. So, this one becomes an Acher, an apostate, in other words, where there is One he sees two. However, for one the energy flows in and out correctly … with the aid of God.
Now R’ Akiva only emerged through the aid of God. That is correct. Everything can only happen because of God. However, it also presupposes a personal God. One that cares about R’ Akiva himself, particularly. Now the principle is that as long as you serve God, obey His will, will you be aided by Him. The mystery, in the end is to understand the principle that R’ Akiva was practising that enlisted the so-called “aid of G-d”. In other words, what did he know that I don’t?
Infinity Exercise 1
Holding nothing, begin to move on the line you have drawn in your imagination.
Continue out as far as you can.
In the midst of the infinite inequality around you,
seek the ultimate equality,
the one identification
that matches you completely.
The Other that we seek continuously.
That which is equal to me.
My soul mate,
the search the ultimate union with your Beloved B’shirt.
That is why we seek G-d.
An existential choice then appears.
Enter into union with your soul-mate,
or enter into strife,
seeking to separate back into your own self.
Continue on…
Go, go, go
Where are you now?
Can you go further?
What is beyond?
Anything?
What does it feel like?
Does infinity has a feeling?
Is this feeling in your body?
Or in your mind?
Does it have a colour?
A shape?
Where does it sit in the body?
What is it?
Somewhere, somehow I contain infinity in my being,
But it is there/here/everywhere!
Or is it that I am contained by the Infinite?
Exercise 2 - Numbers
Begin with numbers. That is easy.
Count a bit, 1, 2, 3…
Continue counting…
Where are we going with this?
Starting anywhere, I can always get to infinity.
So let us continue…
Can run up the numbers this way.
Ask which numbers have a charge and why?
Finite Beings
As finite beings, although fashioned from the cloth/image of the Infinite Supernal Being, we are enclosed in a finite “vehicle”. Perhaps there is a part of G-d’s desire that would like His “children” to return to Him, as is often said in the Biblical readings. In each finite being there is a piece of the infinite, otherwise we could never have encountered the paradoxical idea of the existence of the finite within the infinite. The only way to know Him, is through receiving that part of ourselves where He exists.
